When trying to download MPEG2 files, it's much harder than it used to be on a Mac. If I "save target as" on a PC, it reveals the file # and saves it, no problem, but on a Mac it's a php file. Also, what happened to all the file numbers listed for each movie?

Is there a way to get the old "one page list" back? I like the new format of the site, but it isn't very Mac friendly. If I wanted to use FTP, how would I know the name of the file I was looking for?

Yes, the mac's browsers list "download.php". we are sorry about that. we have not figured out a way to avoide that, have a simple system, and also be able to count the number of downloads.
if you want to know the file number, it is in the url as you mouse over it. not idea, but it is there.
for the movies via ftp, I believe the prelinger movies are all on ftp.archive.org
